2009 Delegate Information Letter

Dear Delegates and Families,

Welcome to our pageant family. Our main goal is to create a fun, learning experience for every delegate. The pageant date is May 8th, 2009 at the Folsom Community Center. All of our rehearsals are being held on Friday evenings at the Folsom Wellness Center beginning April 10th and an Orientation at Crowns & Gowns on April 3rd.
This year we are sponsoring a wonderful local charity called The Grace Foundation. They rescue, adopt and rehabilitate horses then use them for equine-assisted learning and therapeutic programs for children and teens. We are planning a trip to the ranch in April to introduce the delegates to the foundation. More information and necessary forms will be provided.

Entry Fee

- A non-refundable $50 deposit is due at Orientation on April 3rd. No personal checks please, only cash or money orders.
- The balance of your entry fee of $250 is due no later than April 24th. If you have a problem, please let us know.
- Entry fee includes entry into the pageant, photo shoot and 5x7, an ad page in the program book, a photo in each competition category, and an official pageant video.
- All entry fees are non-refundable
- You may get sponsors to help with this cost. This can be family, friends, or local businesses. Your sponsors will get recognition in our program book.

Interview

- Interviews will be held May 7th, location Folsom Wellness Center.
- All delegates will have a one on one interview with at least four judges.
- A dress or a suit is recommended, pantsuits are ok.
- You will need to turn in 6 copies of your application by April 24th. We recommend that you also make a copy for yourself.
- There will be 2 on-stage questions the night of the show in your evening gown.

Opening Number

- You will wear your outfit for the Fun Fashion competition for the opening number. Please see the following description for more details.

Fun Fashion

- The Fashion wear presentation is a modeling segment of the competition. The contestant's outfit should be something that she would wear to an upscale event, fashion show or New Year’s Eve Gala. This should reflect your personality and be something that shows off your flair for fashion and style.

Evening Gown

- This is the elegant and glamorous competition of the pageant. Each delegate will need an evening gown that reflects her personal style.
- Again, no cleavage or bare mid-drifts, keep it age appropriate.

Scoring

- 10 points possible from each judge for Interview
- 10 points possible from each judge for Fun Fashion
- 10 points possible from each judge for Evening Gown
- 10 points possible from each judge for each On-stage Question

Ad Page

- An ad page will be created for each delegate, containing the picture and the list of sponsors provided by the delegate. The photo for this page will be taken at the April 17th rehearsal.
- Extra ad pages in our program book can be purchased for $30 (1/2 page) and $50 (full page) by anyone who would like to send a nice, encouraging message to their favorite delegate(s). Due April 24th. Email us for specific dimensions if you are interested.
- Sponsor(s) can purchase a page for advertisement at the same price. Due April 24th.
- Hint: Offering businesses ad space on your ad page(s) can be a great way to get sponsors!
- If you have a problem meeting the deadline, please let us know.

Tickets

- Pre-sold tickets are $15
- Tickets sold at the door are $20
- All ticket sales are cash only.
