Delegate Application

Day at the Grace Foundation Ranch

Our delegates had a wonderful time learning about this fantastic charity, grooming the horses and looking good for the Channel 10 news in their custom designed blue tees donated by Goneracin and PDQ Ink. Our visit to The Grace Foundation was highlighted on the 6:30 news that evening. Kelly one of the mentors at the ranch was able to share information with the reporter about the horse adoption opportunities at the Grace Foundation. It was a perfect day at the ranch!

Grace Foundation Meet & Greet

On Saturday, March 15th we have the opportunity to visit our 2008 Folsom Pageant official charity, The Grace Foundation in El Dorado Hills. Our 2008 Folsom Pageant delegates will have a special tour of the ranch, learn about the programs, have an opportunity to groom some horses and also have a brief Meet and Greet. News 10 will be there as well.


Things to remember:

-Your Goneracin.com/PDQ Ink t-shirt
-Please bring your signed Liability form
-It’s dirty out there, so dress appropriately
-No open-toed shoes
-Boots and jeans preferred
-A hat with visor may be good if sunny, but not necessary
-Restroom facilities and cleansing water are limited
-Bring water and hand sanitizing wipes

Directions to Ranch:

Take Highway 50 to Latrobe Rd. Exit.Drive South on Latrobe Rd. approximately 4.4 miles.Turn left on Ryan Ranch Road.Make first left on Latigo Lane at the Grace Foundation sign and drive to the end the lane.

*Please bring your Fun Fashion outfit for approval by the directors.

April 25th – 10am-Noon Tour and activities at the Grace Foundation

*Please bring waiver and close-toed shoes

April 28th – 5pm Folsom Cuties practice at the Folsom Wellness Center.

May 1st – 5-6 & 6-8:00pm Practice for Cuties then Pageant delegates at the Folsom Wellness Center.

May 7th – 5-8:30pm Practice for ALL and Interviews for Pageant delegates at the Folsom Wellness Center.
*Please come dressed and ready for Interview.

May 8th – 4:30pm DRESS REHEARSAL at the Folsom High School Multi-Purpose

*Please come mostly ready, only needing a few touch-ups. NO PARENTS ALLOWED at the rehearsal, you will see your daughter after the show.


*We are very strict about being on time May 7th and 8th. Please understand that one late person makes everyone wait. We cannot do run-throughs without every delegate ready.

Sheryl Ellison is a Folsom resident and proud mother of 4 children. She has been happily married to Ryan for 17 years. She loves to travel with her family. She held the titles of both Mrs. California United States 2004 and Mrs. California-America 2006. She is currently Mrs. California International 2008 spreading the word about her favorite cause Donate Life. She has been in the pageant industry for 24 years producing, directing, coaching and competing. She feels so honored to be a part of helping young women make their dreams come true. She lives her life with the motto "Replace Fear with Faith."

Tiffany Ellison calls Folsom her home! She is a proud Folsom High School graduate and was crowned the first Teen Miss Folsom in 1988. She has been happily married to her best friend Jared for 18 years, and they have 4 amazing children. She has been in the pageant industry for 30 years and has held several titles both state and regional. She was crowned Mrs. California 2003 and was 2nd runner-up at Mrs. United States 2003. Currently she holds the title of Mrs. California America 2008. With this title she promotes a cause dear to her heart - Donate Life. She loves helping people find their inner beauty as well as their outer excellence. She is thankful to have the opportunity to work with hundreds of Folsom's finest young women over the past eight years of this program!

2009 Delegate Information Letter

Dear Delegates and Families,

Welcome to our pageant family. Our main goal is to create a fun, learning experience for every delegate. The pageant date is May 8th, 2009 at the Folsom Community Center. All of our rehearsals are being held on Friday evenings at the Folsom Wellness Center beginning April 10th and an Orientation at Crowns & Gowns on April 3rd.
This year we are sponsoring a wonderful local charity called The Grace Foundation. They rescue, adopt and rehabilitate horses then use them for equine-assisted learning and therapeutic programs for children and teens. We are planning a trip to the ranch in April to introduce the delegates to the foundation. More information and necessary forms will be provided.

Entry Fee

- A non-refundable $50 deposit is due at Orientation on April 3rd. No personal checks please, only cash or money orders.
- The balance of your entry fee of $250 is due no later than April 24th. If you have a problem, please let us know.
- Entry fee includes entry into the pageant, photo shoot and 5x7, an ad page in the program book, a photo in each competition category, and an official pageant video.
- All entry fees are non-refundable
- You may get sponsors to help with this cost. This can be family, friends, or local businesses. Your sponsors will get recognition in our program book.

Interview

- Interviews will be held May 7th, location Folsom Wellness Center.
- All delegates will have a one on one interview with at least four judges.
- A dress or a suit is recommended, pantsuits are ok.
- You will need to turn in 6 copies of your application by April 24th. We recommend that you also make a copy for yourself.
- There will be 2 on-stage questions the night of the show in your evening gown.

Opening Number

- You will wear your outfit for the Fun Fashion competition for the opening number. Please see the following description for more details.

Fun Fashion

- The Fashion wear presentation is a modeling segment of the competition. The contestant's outfit should be something that she would wear to an upscale event, fashion show or New Year’s Eve Gala. This should reflect your personality and be something that shows off your flair for fashion and style.

Evening Gown

- This is the elegant and glamorous competition of the pageant. Each delegate will need an evening gown that reflects her personal style.
- Again, no cleavage or bare mid-drifts, keep it age appropriate.

Scoring

- 10 points possible from each judge for Interview
- 10 points possible from each judge for Fun Fashion
- 10 points possible from each judge for Evening Gown
- 10 points possible from each judge for each On-stage Question

Ad Page

- An ad page will be created for each delegate, containing the picture and the list of sponsors provided by the delegate. The photo for this page will be taken at the April 17th rehearsal.
- Extra ad pages in our program book can be purchased for $30 (1/2 page) and $50 (full page) by anyone who would like to send a nice, encouraging message to their favorite delegate(s). Due April 24th. Email us for specific dimensions if you are interested.
- Sponsor(s) can purchase a page for advertisement at the same price. Due April 24th.
- Hint: Offering businesses ad space on your ad page(s) can be a great way to get sponsors!
- If you have a problem meeting the deadline, please let us know.

- Pre-sold tickets are $15
- Tickets sold at the door are $20
- All ticket sales are cash only.

Tiffany is a Folsom resident with her wonderful husband of more than 8 years Chris. So far they have two fantastic boys who keep them very busy! Tiffany is a former model and has been in the pageant and fashion industries for 19 years designing, competing, judging and administrating. Her dream is to help women of all ages to discover their dreams, their gifts and talents, and live full, happy lives. She was most recently a regional spokeswoman for the WIN Foundation, which helps women with abuse and self-esteem recovery as well as destiny management. She and her husband live by the quote "Make no small plans, they have no magic to stir men's souls." And, they are well on their way!
